Liam’s Featured Artist #2 Rainbow Kitten Surprise

With poignant lyrics, sonorous melodies and a unique blend of folk, rock and hip hop. Rainbow Kitten Surprise is quickly blowing up. Rainbow Kitten Surprise, AKA RKS was formed in 2013 in North Carolina, USA. The members, Sam Melo, Darrick Keller, Ethan Goodpaster, Jess Haney, and Charlie Holt, met at their college, Appalachian State University. They soon blew up amongst their college dorms and well commended on their amazing live performances which have now lead them to be one of the most prominent bands in the Northern American festival scene. They have also received global success having racked up over 75 million streams on their music, on digital platforms.

The band released their first independently released EP “Mary” in 2013. In the same year, they released their first album “Seven” then later re-released in with their first EP and titled it “Seven + Mary”. In 2015 the band released their self-titled album “RKS”. In 2018 they released their latest album “How to: Friend, Love, Freefall” with Electra records. The album features their emotional song “Hide” in which their lead singer, Sam Melo, writes about being a drag queen and coming out to your family.
